About the Role
Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre have a fantastic position to join their team working 2-3 days per week as a health care assistant. The successful applicant must be able to work on a Friday each week until 6.30pm to be considered and have previous primary care experience. 
 
Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
 
The healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
  • Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
  • New patient health checks.
  • Re-stocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines.
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations.
  • Providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.

Essential:
  • Previous experience working as a HCA.
  • Experience of working within a GP practice.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post.
  • Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
About Us
We are a small but busy practice with a population of approximately 7,600 patients. Our CQC rating is ‘Good’. We have an incredibly supportive administrative/reception team with good management systems in place.
