About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Receptionist to join the team based in Rowhedge and the University of Essex Medical practice. The position is offered on 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 days. To be considered, you will also need to have flexibility to cover other shifts. 

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Booking appointments
  • Greeting patients
  • Answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff
  • Updating patient records, processing correspondence
  • Liaising with patients using various different types of communication methods

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, you must have the following:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong IT skills
  • Experience of a busy reception/public environment/providing customer services 
  • Good standard of education including Maths and English
  • Experience working within primary care desirable
  • Experience of EMIS would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate
  • You will have a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors either in person or over the telephone
